Meet your Dietitian!

Let's start with a few introductions, shall we? I know I always feel more comfortable with my health care providers when I know a little bit about them, so I thought I would share a bit about myself with all of you!

I started my career after I finished graduate school. After exploring the realm of research, I decided that my favorite part of collecting data was the people I interacted with during the study that I conducted. This inspired me to pursue my degree and licensure as a registered dietitian. In my years of practice I have loved every minute of interacting with patients and families, which is why I decided to dedicate myself to providing nutrition services in my private practice.

I am a big proponent of finding balance, and I try to practice what I preach! Outside of work, I love being active and training for distance races - so far I have completed multiple half marathons, full marathons, and even a century bike race! I love to practice yoga, strength train, and take long walks. Part of finding a healthy lifestyle is being active, and I find I feel my best when doing something active (no matter how small) each day.

As I said, I fully believe in balance, which for me involves food and cooking. I love to explore cuisines, new foods, and new recipes. Cooking is very important to me, and is a way that I can give to others. My husband and I love to host and shower our loved ones with nourishing, delicious foods. I plan to share this with all of you as well with multiple recipes coming in the near future! Keep an eye out for some fresh summer meal ideas coming up!

I would be remiss if I didn't mention my international background, which has led me to an international practice. My husband is from Bologna, which happens to be considered the food capital of Italy. There is no luckier fate for a dietitian, let me tell you! I am lucky enough to be exposed to a wide variety of European cuisines through my new extended family. There is so much to learn from the way Italians cook and eat, all of which we will explore here on the blog together. Besides having an international family, my husband and I are on the brink of an international move. After living in rural Pennsylvania and Chicago, we are taking the plunge and moving to Paris! Again, can we say food heaven? There will be tons of French influences in my upcoming recipes, and many discussions on French eating culture.

So, buckle in, it's going to be an interesting and wild ride! I hope you continue to follow along as we discuss healthy habits, new recipes, fun workouts, and balanced lifestyles. Remember, everything discussed here will be with a general focus. Each one of you have unique and special needs, which I am well equipped to tackle with you during individual sessions. Together we can determine what your body needs and how we can fit it into your lifestyle and needs. Book your session on the Services page today, and let's start working towards health and happiness together!
